Pho – Vietnamese Street Food

Are you a fan of Vietnamese food? If you are, we are sure you have already been to this wonderful restaurant named PhoVietnamese Street Food. Okie, we admit we are fans of Wagamama and asian food in general. Pho doesn’t have a massive spread of branches all over the UK like Nandos and Pizza Hut but has only 30 branches all over the UK. You are sure to find one somewhere local or maybe 30 mins drive away 😉

The one thing which impressed us the most is their vegan/vegetarian menu which is extensive. Being vegetarians we are used to just 2 or 3 dishes catered for our dietary requirements but here in Pho we were spoilt for choice. Our early few visits to Pho were in London but during the past years we frequented the branches in Oxford and Portsmouth more.

With a very urban and contemporary decor, Pho has a warm and cosy setting. Pho is a dream come true for health conscious people and fellow vegan/vegetarian folks. Their signature Pho has 5 vegetarian options(can you believe it 😉 and their vegan menu consists of 14 dishes. A big shout out to their fresh summer rolls and fragrant curry/rice dishes. The flavours are absolutely fantastic and divine. The one thing which we really find irresistible is their gooey peanut sauce, a perfect accompaniment to the crunchy rolls. Their dishes have a fine balance of asian flavours and herbs and the portion sizes are quite generous too.

The drinks menu is quite exciting too. The drinks are delicately infused with citrus flavours like lime, fresh basil, pungent/kick worthy ginger and many other detox juices. The selection of teas and coffees is quite tempting and the same goes for their dessert range. Shall we mention they have fragrant tea balls which bloom into a flower when dipped in hot water 🙂 Their impeccable service also deserves a separate mention. Their staff is extremely friendly and kind. They are quite helpful with navigating you through the menu if you are not sure of Vietnamese flavours.

We really can’t fault anything in this restaurant. Everything right from food, service and ambience is truly brilliant. Infact our favourite recipe of Vietnamese Pho is inspired from this place itself. Check out our recipe here. Little difficult to say this but we would surely choose Pho over Wagamama solely because of their varied selection of food and drinks. In nutshell Pho is not to be missed.
