Afternoon Tea at Burj Al Arab

While everything about Burj Al Arab screams extravagance and opulence, the only way to get inside the palatial hotel is by making some dining reservations. Even if they are sure to leave a deep hole in your pockets, Afternoon Tea seems like a comparatively legit and sensible option.

We could not secure a booking in Skyview Bar as our son was under age at that time. Sahn Eddar seemed a good option with almost the same menu as the Skyview Bar. It is situated at the second floor of the hotel.

We had already made the hotel staff aware of our dietary requirements of vegetarian food. We were greeted by our server Krish. He handed over our menus while explaining the whole process. We have heard they do change their menus frequently to maintain the unique quotient. Our seven course afternoon tea experience kicked off like this :

ONE: We started off with Sparkling Date Juice.

TWO: Then came White Chocolate Petite pots. They were exquisite we must say.

THREE: Then arrived the Finger Sandwiches which were fresh and really tasty. The dainty flavours were so delectable.

FOUR: After that we were served Mediterranean Tartlet stuffed with Ratatouille, Feta cheese and Olives
.

FIVE: Then we were served Lychee and Rose Sorbet. It was lush.

SIX: After that arrived Homemade Scones with Devonshire Clotted Cream and selection of Homemade Jams. The scones were warm and fresh.

SEVEN: Then came a selection of Mini Pastries.

It was really kind of them to send over Anniversary wishes in the form of a Pastry. It was luscious.

There was an extensive seven page selection of Teas, all of which appeared fancy and exquisite. Over the whole course of experience, we had the Gold Oolong Tea, Moroccan Tea and two other teas as well which sadly I don’t remember the names of.

The best part about the whole experience was we got to spend some nice and quiet time together and enjoy the amazing view. At moments we wished we had the appetite to go for a second serving. They even bought an Anniversary Rose for me which was really appreciated. The servers make sure you get to enjoy the whole experience and get an out of the world service. Our server Krish was a friendly young boy who made the experience even more awesome.

Is the experience worth the money?

Absolutely it is!! You get to enjoy the finest teas and drinks curated from the world’s best sources. The food is tasty and meticulously presented. It’s like an experience rather than a proper meal. But it’s more than enough to stuff you because you can always have seconds. It is certainly an over the board kind of experience but it is exclusive and luxurious and it certainly did make our tenth anniversary special. You get to enjoy unlimited food and drinks, with a fabulous view and all tax and service charges included. The afternoon tea at Sahn Eddar is served daily at 13:00 – 17:00 and it starts from AED 550 per adult and AED 275 per child. Go for it, you wont regret it!

Because When in Burj Al Arab All That Glitters No Doubt Is Real Gold 🙂
